🥊 Boxing comes to Blackworks: a real ring at IFEMA

🥊 Boxing enters Blackworks: a real ring in the middle of the festival at IFEMA

On March 27th and 28th, IFEMA Madrid hosts a new edition of Blackworks, one of the most representative events of the current techno and hard techno scene.

For two nights, the venue transforms into a large-format space with multiple stages, high-level audiovisual production, and an international community that makes the event more than just a music session.

In this context, this year there is an element that breaks with the usual.

A real boxing ring.

⚡ A festival that goes beyond music

Blackworks does not operate like a conventional festival.

Beyond the lineup, its proposal is based on a complete experience:

  • Immersive spaces
  • Intense visual production
  • Strong aesthetic identity
  • A community that understands the event as more than just attending to listen to music

This type of environment is precisely what allows different proposals to appear within the venue.

🥊 A boxing ring in the middle of IFEMA

Red Glove's activation is located within this setting.

The central element is clear:

A real boxing ring installed inside the festival.

This is not a decorative feature, but a functional space where attendees can get in, move around, and participate.

The ring thus becomes a physical point of attraction within the flow of the event, generating constant activity around it.

⚡ A direct dynamic: hit, measure, repeat

The activation is structured around a simple mechanic.

Inside the ring there is a punching machine, designed to measure the power of each participant's punch.

The operation is straightforward:

  • The user gets into the ring
  • Makes their punch
  • Views their score
  • Decides whether or not to repeat

This simplicity allows for quick, friction-free participation and is adapted to the festival's pace.

🔥 A point of activity within the festival

Throughout the night, the space generates constant dynamics:

  • Participants who go up to try it
  • Groups watching from outside
  • People who repeat to improve their score

This turns the ring into an active point within the venue, with continuous rotation and visibility from different angles of the pavilion.

🎁 Incentive for participation

The activation also includes a system of prizes and raffles:

  • Delivery of Red Glove x Blackworks boxing gloves
  • Raffles for boxing bags among participants

These elements reinforce participation without altering the nature of the experience.

🧢 A collaboration between two contexts

The proposal is part of a collaboration between Red Glove and Blackworks, visible both in the activation and in the joint merchandising developed for the event.

The union has a logical point:

  • Boxing as a physical and technical discipline
  • Blackworks as a cultural and musical platform

Both share an aesthetic, an intensity, and a way of understanding the live experience.

🥊 Taking boxing out of its usual environment

Beyond the visual impact, the activation responds to a concrete idea:

Taking boxing out of its usual context.

Traditionally, this sport takes place in specific spaces —gyms, clubs, or training centers—.

Its presence at a festival of these characteristics represents a change of context that allows for:

  • Increasing its visibility
  • Connecting with new audiences
  • Integrating it into a different environment

Without modifying its essence.

🚀 A first step towards new formats

These types of actions open the door to new ways of understanding how boxing can be integrated into other spaces.

Not as an isolated spectacle, but as an accessible experience within large-format events.

A first step towards a more open approach, where sport intersects with culture, music, and the urban environment.

📍 March 27th & 28th – IFEMA Madrid

For two nights, Blackworks transforms IFEMA into one of the key hubs of the electronic music scene.

And amidst it all, boxing finds its place.

A ring.
A punching machine.
And a new way to experience it.
